Always dreamed of gliding across the floor with elegance and ease?
At Te Amo Dance, you’ll learn the timeless beauty of ballroom – in a relaxed, welcoming space where everyone feels comfortable, no matter your experience level.
Our ballroom classes blend the charm of classic dances like the Waltz, Foxtrot and Tango with Te Amo’s signature approach: warmth, encouragement and a touch of Byron soul.
No stiff formality. No pressure to compete. Just beautiful music, smooth steps and the joy of moving together.
Whether you’re preparing for a special occasion, dancing with a loved one, or simply exploring something new, ballroom dancing helps you feel grounded, elegant, and completely in the moment.

Best dance teacher I encountered in my entire life! Winston had said, if you have a heartbeat, you can dance, you can teach anyone to dance, which is pretty awesome!
Winston is an excellent, passionate dance teacher who instills both joy and drive into his students. His work is the reason I still attend daily dance lessons for over 5 years here at home. Any student fortunate enough to get Winston’s dance vocabulary bestowed unto them may see a new light of day.
such wonderful friendly professional teaching, highly recommend
Come solo, as a couple, or with friends.
We rotate partners in class so you can learn from everyone — and if you prefer to stay with your partner, that’s fine too.
Ballroom is about connection, not perfection.
You’ll learn the basics, meet friendly locals, and see how fun and natural ballroom dancing can be – even if it’s your first time on the floor.
If you love it (and you will), you can continue weekly or monthly.
We’ll take care of the rhythm, the music and the fun — you just show up.
Join a class this week and start your dance journey.
Ballroom isn’t about memorising moves – it’s about connection.
Focus on listening to your partner’s movement, maintaining gentle tension through your frame and flowing together as one.
The best dancers don’t rush the steps — they feel the conversation happening through every touch and turn.
Good ballroom dancers look effortless because of their posture and control.
Stand tall, relax your shoulders and move with intention. You don’t need to be perfect — just aware.
A little practice in front of a mirror or at home between classes makes a world of difference.
Ballroom is as much about emotion as motion.
Let the music guide you, smile, and stay present with your partner.
The magic happens when you stop thinking and start dancing – that’s when it feels like floating.
No partner needed! Many of our students come solo and we rotate partners so everyone learns together. Couples are welcome to stay paired if they prefer.
Absolutely. Most of our students start with zero experience and sometimes zero rhythm. We start with the basics, move at a comfortable pace and focus on helping you feel confident, not perfect.
Dress comfortably but with a touch of style — ballroom feels best when you can move freely and feel good doing it.
For ladies, a flowy skirt or dress that moves with you is perfect, or pants that let you step easily. For men, lightweight trousers and a neat shirt work well. Avoid clothes that are too tight or slippery.
Wear shoes that stay secure on your feet and glide on the floor — smooth-soled shoes or dance shoes if you have them. Leave the thongs and sticky sneakers at home. The goal: comfort, confidence, and a little bit of elegance.
Not at all. We have dancers from their 20s to their 70s. It’s never too late or too early to start enjoying movement, music and connection.
Not at all. Ballroom dancing is about grace, not gymnastics. You don’t need to be super fit or flexible to enjoy it – you’ll build strength, balance and coordination naturally as you go.
Classes move at an easy pace and you can take breaks whenever you need. Most people are surprised by how quickly their posture and confidence improve – no sweatbands required.
Our group classes run for about an hour, just long enough to learn something new and still have energy for a laugh at the end.
No problem. You can catch the same level the next week or join another class time. We’re flexible because life happens.
We’re a small boutique studio in Mullumbimby that focuses on connection, fun and genuine community, not competition. You’ll never feel like just another student here.
Yes. Our First Lesson Special for $20 lets you give it a go with no lock-in. If you love it, you can continue weekly or grab a class pack.
